River-based sports such as canoeing, fishing and kayaking are popular in the Loire.  Small sandy beaches and bathing areas can be found along the river, a perfect spot to relax and enjoy the sunshine.   Hiking, pony trekking and cycling are also favourite activities in the Loire valley as well as a visit to one of theme parks or activity centres for all the family to enjoy.
