The Languedoc region is the hottest in France with summer temperatures frequently in the eighties. You can expect 300 days of sunshine a year. The coastline, sheltered by the mountains tends to be warmer than inland. The mountains are of course cooler and the valleys damper. This region enjoys a hot climate with long hours of sunshine and boast average temperatures in July and August of 28 degrees. The weather is so good all year round that the locals bath in the sea on Christmas day!
