The most famous wine producing regions of France
This is by far the best way to travel throughout the region. With a plethora of towns, villages, markets, vineyards and châteaux to visit, driving allows you flexibility in your schedule. Cars are easily hired and travel by cross channel ferry is usually a popular option.
The Transco bus runs from Beaune and stops at all the villages along the N74 until Langres. This timetable may change and it is therefore advisable to contact the tourist office or bus company directly.
Travelling through Burgundy by train is not ideal as trains only travel to the larger of Burgundy’s towns. Driving really is the best option. Most sites of particular interest and beauty are scattered throughout the region, as are the vineyards. The TGV line runs from Paris through to Dijon and Eurostar between Paris and Lyon stopping at Le Creusot and Maçon. There are SNCF lines that run through the region.
