After Dark

In general the evenings in Burgundy involve fine dining and tasting the lovely wines from the local vineyards. However at certain times of year there are events and festivals that provide a wealth of entertainment. Theatres, cinemas and clubs are available in the larger towns such as Dijon.

Dijon, a university town is bustling with nightlife and entertainment. The Place Emile Zola and the rue Berbisey are the hub and a great place to head for. Here are a few Dijon venues you may like to try:

L’an-Fer in Centre Dauphine, rue Bossuet is a lively club that attracts some of the best DJ’s outside of the capital. Open Tuesday – Saturday.

Messire Bar on 3 rue Jules Mercier, is a seventies bar and is open until late every night.

L’Univers on 47 rue Berbisey, is a blues jazz and rock bar that opens until late.

Au Vieux Léon on rue Jeanin is a small, lively typically French bar, which is a favourite student, hang out.

Théatre du Parvais St-Jean- innovative programmes of art, dance and theatre are worth visiting.
