Driving is relatively easy in France, apart from driving on the opposite side of the road, although priority is given to vehicles from the right. There are some free areas to park in Calais although some areas are payable by a meter.
The local buses are run by the Calais Bus Company who also operate a bus service from the ferry port. You buy your ticket direct from the driver.
There are numerous taxi firms in Calais and taxis can either be flagged down in the street or picked up from a taxi rank.
The TER and TGV (high-speed) trains run from Calais to Frethun, Lille, Paris and beyond.
