The Loire is not a region that is absolutely bursting with bars with nightclubs. However the University towns of Angers and Tours are the liveliest centres of the Loire Valley and have a great selection of cafés, bars, jazz clubs and nightclubs that will keep you entertained until the early hours of the morning.

The Loire has a fantastic range of cultural entertainment to offer. This includes shows such as the Son et Lumiere. Held on summer evenings in variety of Loire towns, 'Son et Lumiere' are performances, usually held in romantic, historic buildings, and depict the regions or Chateau’s history through a colourful array of dancing, acting or music. Amboise, Azay-le-Rideau, Blois, Chambord, Chenonveau, Le Lude and Loches are just some of the towns, which are well known for these performances.

In Angers you can also find the Centre for Contemporary Dance and Drama and the Théâtre d’Angers. In Tours there are plethora of musical performances and superb classic drama held in La Grange de Meslay and Le Grand Théâtre.
