Prices vary greatly. Lunches can cost less than £10 for a quick 2-courses including the “Plat du Jour”, evening meals taken “à la carte” can cost £100 per head and more, before wine should you so wish!

A small coffee costs about €2, a beer about €3 and a bottle of wine about €20 when dining (though you can always choose a jug or “carafe” of house wine for less, and usually of similar quality).

You could spend a year eating in Paris without going to the same restaurant twice, and the experience is as often as enriching when you follow your instincts as when you head for somewhere on recommendation.
