Much more than just fantastic Champagne
If you are staying in Reims during your visit, then a car really isn’t necessary, however, if you’re planning to travel around the Champagne region, then by car is the best way to go. With a plethora of towns, villages, markets, vineyards and châteaux to visit, driving allows you flexibility in your schedule. Cars are easily hired and travel by cross channel ferry is usually a popular option.
Transport Urbains de Reims (TUR) buses operate within the city. Their information office is at 6 rue Chanzy, open daily except Sunday. Single tickets, books of 10 tickets or day passes can be purchased from the bus driver.
Regional buses leave from the bus station to Troyes and Châlons-en-Champagne. Schedules are available from the tourist office.
The train station is on Boulevard Joffre, less than a 10 minute walk from the cathedral.
There are frequent services to both Epernay (20 minute journey) and to Paris (1½ hour journey). Please contact the tourist board or the SNCF to obtain further information.
