The central main shopping areas are on the rue Emile Zola, around the cathedral and in the alleyways of the old town off the pedestrianised rue Champeaux.

Jean Pierre Ozeree – a speciality cheese shop where the owners are happy to explain about their cheeses and how to store and serve them.

Le Palais du Chocolate – a must for chocolate lovers. Award winning chocolates with all sorts of ingredients including almonds, passion fruit, beer, and of course champagne. 2 rue de la Monnaie (+33 (0)3 25 73 35 73).

Aux Crieurs de Vines – there are over 300 varieties of wines and champagnes on offer, including regional specials. There’s also a bar so you can try before you buy.
