Known as the ‘Garden of France’ this region has some of the most fertile countryside in France creating an extensive array of wonderful fresh produce.
Freshwater fish features highly on menus with a splendid selection offering pike, perch, trout and salmon to name a few. These popular local delicacies are cooked in a ‘beurre blanc’ (butter sauce) and will have your taste buds working overtime.
The Valley is famous for its light, fruity white and rose wines including Vauvray Chinon, Quincy, Bourgueil and Saumur-Champigny produced on the slopes of the Loire. A fantastic accompaniment to any meal!
