Reims
The Champagne Capital
Reims is a small but perfectly formed city with little traffic, designer boutiques, good restaurants and one of the finest cathedrals in all of France. Only the hardest of hearts could fail to be seduced by the surrounding hillsides, home to the regio's famous wine villages.
The seductive scenery, relaxed way of life and fantastic Champagne is more than enough to fill any short break but the city has more to offer including five museums.
Troyes, France
The Champagne Capital
Troyes is the less discovered of the two towns but in our opinion is the more attractive. As the former capital of the region, it was a prosperous town as far back as the Middle Ages and medieval buildings and Gothic churches abound in its picturesque old town.
Visit the bustling market, the fascinating museums or stroll through the narrow cobbled streets soaking up the traditional French atmosphere. Troyes is also a great choice for shopping breaks, not only for discounted Champagne, but also for designer clothes and shoes in the nearby factory and discount shopping outlets.
