Food & Drink - Eating Out

Several of the hotels offer great food, and there are a few selected eateries around town. Here are a few within Arromanches:

AU 6 JUIN - Situated on the Rue du Maréchal Joffre, this restaurant offers a great menu with a terrace for dining ‘al fresco’. It also doubles up as café serving snacks and a bar in the evenings. Café de la Plage is also a lovely seaside coffee shop that serves pancakes ice cream and other niceties on a lovely terrace. There are also fast food like places such as L’en Cas which is situated opposite the museum and Pic-Nic on the Rue du Maréchal Joffre. Pic-Nic also has a pretty south facing terrace on which to dine in the fresh sea air.

For more choice and a pleasant break from you hotel dining, you may want to travel to nearby Bayeux:
Les Arcades on the rue Latière, Bayeux, offers sumptuous meat and fish dishes, which are also reasonably priced.

Le Petit Normand on the rue Larcher, Bayeux, is set in a 16th century house and offers mouthwatering traditional cooking, seafood and plenty of local cider.

La Table du Terroir on rue St Jean, Bayeux, is for the meat lovers. Set behind the butchers shop, this serves a whole selection of sumptuous steaks and specialities.

La Baromètre is a beautiful restaurant within the Chateau de Goville, situated in Le-Breuil-en-Bessin, 11km west of Bayeux. Although more expensive than most, this restaurant would undoubtedly delight all who try it.
