The main shopping streets in Boulogne are Grande Rue, Rue Thiers, Rue Victor Hugo, Rue Nationale and the narrow, cobbled streets of the Old Town. The Promenade San Martin is also lined in summer with shops and stalls. In particular, Boulogne has many excellent specialist shops such as Les Pêcheurs d’Etaples in Grande Rue (fish shop and restaurant), Hediard in rue Porte Neuve (delicatessen), Bourgeois in rue de la Lampe (butcher/delicatessen), Philippe Olivier in rue Thiers (cheese), Chocolaterie de Beussent in rue Thiers (hand made chocolates), Dessert et Dessert in Grande Rue (patisserie) and Le Chais in rue des Deux Ponts (wines).

The Auchan hypermarket and commercial centre is located just outside of Boulogne in St Martin Boulogne.
